2015 NASA Western States Championships - Strong Showing For BMWs And Diffsonline
The 2nd annual NASA Western States Championships took place at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca over the weekend, and it was a very strong showing for Diffsonline customers and BMWs in general.
Diffsonline-equipped BMWs easily took top honors in multiple classes. Dick Hunter wheeled his #58 BMW 325is from pole position to race win in GTS 2, taking the checkered flag over one full lap ahead of his closest competitor. Tristan Littlehale managed a similar race win in GTS 3 with his #54 BMW M3 starting on pole and finishing nearly a minute ahead of second place. The quickly-growing and popular Spec E46 class was won by Mark Drennan in the #333 BMW 330i, finishing over 13 seconds ahead in an otherwise hotly-contested spec class. Watch for this glass to grow dramatically for next season.
The big-gun ST 3 class had another BMW taking a win with Michael McAleenan finishing over 22 seconds ahead of the second-place Corvette Z06, while Sandro Espinosa's #32 BMW 325i took an incredibly close victory in Spec E30, finishing a mere 0.285 seconds ahead of second place.
It was an incredible weekend of racing in Monterey, CA, and you can find more championships results directly from National Auto Sport Association (NASA).
